Let's Take A Break

I know it's been a long time since I posted some pictures from China... but come on! I've posted 6 sets of pictures-- six different cities.

So this time, there are only a few pictures, and they're all random. We decided to relax for a few days (AND BOY DID WE NEED A REST! :)

Party/Get-Together Today

We've been working since this morning trying to get ready for this enormous party that we're throwing!! I helped (a bit...) by preparing a HUGE watermelon (I'll explain the process through the pictures :)

That big watermelon in front is hollowed out... I carved out those little spheres of watermelon :) That black pot is holding black grapes... we're going to put them both in the hollowed-out watermelon (along with something else...)

Remember how I said that I would post pictures later?

Here they are! It was REAAALLY windy!!

I almost thought the trees would blow over...

Fire!

As you all have probably heard, there's a fire in Yucaipa. That's very near to where I live.

You MIGHT have heard that the first two firefighters lost their lives two days ago. My choir teacher's nephew is a fire captain (he's head honcho of a city fire department). The firefighters belonged to his team.

A few minutes ago, the weather was causing chaos. The atmosphere outside is tense. The air is hot and stuffy. Humidity generally is good for firefighters, but the WIND is not. There was so much wind that all of the garden's corn crops blew over! I'll post some pictures later...

But as I'm writing this, the sun came out (a little bit) and the wind eased up (a VERY little bit)...

I'll keep you guys updated on the situation here.
